Our Programmes

WALPE employs a range of strategies to advance women leadership including capacity building, advocacy and creating platforms for engagement. Learn more about our programmes and how we empower women to take on leadership roles at local and national levels.

Capacity Enhancement

We empower women, young women, women with disabilities and LGBTQI with essential leadership skills, constitutional awareness, and economic tools through transformative trainings, solidarity, support networks and intergenerational grooming, coaching and mentorship, enabling them to effectively participate and lead at all levels.

Peace Building, Solidarity and Social Cohesion

We promote and advocate for a violence-free environment that allows women to freely, actively and fully participate in democratic processes, leadership and decision-making platforms and opportunities, thus enhancing a culture of care, inclusion, solidarity and peace.

Local, National and Regional Advocacy and lobby

We drive systemic change by advocating, lobbying and dialoguing for gender responsive laws, policies, by-laws and practises, challenging discriminatory norms and mobilising collective action to create an enabling environment for women’s leadership.

Research and knowledge management on gender equality

We generate and disseminate evidence-based research, data and information on gender equality and women’s leadership, informing our programs, influencing policy and fostering broader understanding and dialogue on gender related reforms.
